Welcome to the RealWork Labs WordPress Plugin Page

Install the Plugin from the WordPress Plugin Directory

You can download the RealWork Labs WordPress Plugins from here.

Once you’ve installed and activated the plugin:

  • Go to the main Dashboard
  • Hover over “settings”, to the right select “RealWork Labs”
  • On that page you’ll insert the API that was provided, there is also a check box that you’ll need to check if you already have a google map installed in the site, if not leave unchecked
  • You’ll then want to go to the page you want the widget to show on, depending on the editor you have on your WP instance you’ll select “shortcode”, or “text”, if only the text option is there, you’ll need to surround the shortcode with tags.

We recommend using the shortcode below, it gives the most comprehensive data for Google to crawl.

[nationwidecombo lat=”30.2912231″ long=”-97.722748″ zoomlevel=”9″ mapsize=”nationwide” showminimap=”yes” reviewpinmax=”10″]

You will need to change the latitude and longitude in the code above. You can get the Latitude and Longitude from the company’s GMB page. See example below:

Once you put the correct latitude and longitude in the shortcode, and it’s placed on the desired page, hit save/apply. Then click update or publish depending on the situation and editor.

Your map will now be live. If there are style issues (font color or weight) the CSS code below will change the font to black by default. You may google the “hex code” for any desired color and replace the “#000000”.

<style type=”text/css”>
div.nn-review-inner-cont>h2, div.nn-samap-inner-cont>h2 {
color: #000000;
}
div.nn-review-header h3, div.nn-samap-header h3 {
color: #000000;
}
p.nn-review-body, p.nn-samap-body {
color: #000000;
}
div.nn-review-inner-cont, div.nn-samap-inner-cont {
color: #000000;
}
</style>

Service Area / Review Combination Map

 The service area and reviews combination map has three sections that are sure to improve local rankings and help convert visitors.

  1. A large interactive service area heat-map combined with review markers.
  2. A wide column of your reviews, properly coded so that search engines recognize them as reviews of your business.
  3. A narrow column of your check-ins, along with related comments and photos.

Place the combination map on city-specific pages to provide for unique, rich, dynamic, and micro-formatted content that is specific to that city in order to bolster rankings for each city your business services.

Parameters

Each short code has several parameters. Some are required and some are optional. Required parameters are indicated with a *.

Recent Reviews

  • state – (*required) The name of the state that you want to show reviews for
  • city – (*required) The name(s) of the city that you want to show reviews for, separated by commas
  • count – The number of recent reviews to display

Service Area Heat Map

  • state – (*required) The name of the state that you want to show checkins and a heat map for
  • city – (*required) The name(s) of the city that you want to show checkins and a heat map for, separated by commas
  • count – The number of recent checkins to display

Service Area / Review Combination Map

  • state="FL" – Optional. Must be used in conjunction with “city”. Indicates the city and state for which the review and check-in content will be rendered in the markup, and where the map will be centered. If no city and state are specified, review and check-in content will be rendered without respect to its local city/state, and the map center will be calculated based on an approximate center of all reviews.
  • city="Orlando" – Optional. Must be used in conjunction with “state”. See above. The name(s) of the city that you want to show reviews, checkins and a heat map for, separated by commas
  • showmap="yes" – Optional, defaults to “yes”. If specified as anything other than “yes”, then the map will not be displayed, and only the rendered review and check-in content will be shown.
  • reviewstart="1" – Optional, defaults to “1”. Indicates the starting review number to render, based on a reverse chronological order, and may be used for paging.
  • reviewcount="15" – Optional, defaults to 15. Specifies the number of reviews to render based on a reverse chronological order.
  • checkinstart="1" – Optional, defaults to “1”. Indicates the starting check-in number to render, based on a reverse chronological order, and may be used for paging.
  • checkincount="25" – Optional, defaults to 25. Specifies the number of check-ins to render based on a reverse chronological order.
  • zoomlevel="11" – Optional. Indicates the initial zoom level of the map, and may be a number between 8 and 14, where 8 is a larger area with less detail, and 14 is a small area with more detail. If not specified, Nearby Now will calculate an appropriate zoom level.
  • reviewcityurl="http://www.mydomain.com/service-area-{city}-{state}" – Optional. If specified, a set of url’s will be rendered under the title “Our Reviews by City”. Each city that has at least one local review will be rendered as a link that fits the specified pattern, where “{city}” will be replaced by the lowercase name of the city, and “{state}” will be replaced by the lowercase two character abbreviation for the state. If a city name has more than one word, hyphens will replace the spaces. In the example above, the url rendered for Fort Worth, Texas will be “http://www.mydomain.com/service-area-fort-worth-tx”. NOTE: You must create a new page for each city, matching each of the corresponding URLs that are automatically generated to avoid links that create 404 errors.
  • mapsize="large" – Optional, defaults to “large”. May be “small” to render a small map, “medium” for a bigger map, and “large” for a large map. The containing element of the shortcode dictates the width of the map – this parameter adjusts the height.
  • mapscrollwheel="no" – Optional, defaults to “no”. If specified as “yes”, then the mouse scroll wheel may be used to change the zoom level of the interactive map.
  • fblike="no" – Optional, defaults to “no”. If specified as “yes”, a Facebook like button plugin will be rendered below each rendered review.
  • fbcomment="no" – Optional, defaults to “no”. If specified as “yes”, a Facebook comment plugin will be rendered below each rendered review.
  • techemail="tech@yourdomain.com" – Optional. If specified, the rendered reviews and check-ins will be limited to those of the technician specified. This is often used for technician specific pages, where each technician has his or her own page of reviews and check-in content. Consider using in conjunction with showmap=”no”, and without a city or state parameter.
  • serviceareaname="Fairfax County" – Optional, defaults to the name of the city(s) from the city param.
  • showphotos="yes" – Optional, defaults to “yes”. If specified as “no”, plugin output will not include checkin photos.
  • showminimap="yes" – Optional, defaults to “yes”. If specified as “no”, plugin output will not include a static Google Maps image next to a review.
  • apikey – Optional. Enables ability to override the storefront token at the short-code level.
